Loved and chosen as a privileged destination by numerous artists who have chosen it to relax, delight themselves and concentrate on their works, Sorrento has been, since the times of the Grand Tour, one of the Italian towns being more in touch with art.

Soon, and exactly from 1st to 4th February 2010, Tasso’s hometown will house the International Art Meetings – Sorrento Art First Spring First 2010 – THE GOLDEN AGE  OF THE ITALIAN SCULPTURE, by Charles Avery. 

Sponsored by the Local Authority for Culture of the town of Sorrento, by Fondazione Sorrento and by the Association Roland Barthes, the event aims to exalt and promote the possibility to combine art and culture, especially in such a territory as Sorrento, rich in artistic, historical and archaeological sites of great importance.

The date takes place at the seats of the Correale Museum and Villa Fiorentino. This innovative moment dedicated to Sorrento Coast will be attended by Charles Avery, considered as one of the most qualified experts in European sculpture, in particular in French, Italian, English, Flemish and Dutch art.
